Good to know
How does this prevent broken file names?
Every path is normalized to NFC and stored with the ZIP UTF-8 flag, avoiding macOS decomposed names and CP949-style guessing.
Why did the preview change a name?
Characters and reserved names that Windows cannot save are replaced, and normalized duplicates receive numbered suffixes.
Can every built-in archive app open an AES ZIP?
No. Regular ZIPs target built-in Mac and Windows tools. AES-256 ZIPs need a compatible app such as 7-Zip, WinZip, or Keka.
Does the password hide file names?
No. Standard AES ZIP encryption protects file contents, but the file and folder names remain visible.
